The holiness of God

Deuteronomy 32: 51

"For both of you betrayed me with the Israelites at the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin. You failed to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel there.”

We know God who is so loving and gracious but when it comes to the holiness God is so concern about it. There is no compromise when it comes to the holiness of GOD.

In the background of the scripture, the whole community of isralites reached in the wilderness of Zin and camped at Kadesh. There was no water for the people to drink at this place and the people blamed Moses for it. And Moses and Aron went to God's presence to seek God for this problem. The Lord said to Moses, "You and Aaron must take the staff and assemble the entire community. As the people watch, speak to the rock over there, and it will pour out its water. You will provide enough water from the rock to satisfy the whole community and their livestock.” (Numbers 20:8)

The Lord told Moses to speak to the rock, however, Moses struck it, not once but twice. By striking the rock, Moses disobeyed God's direct command and dishonored God in the presence of his people. Just getting angry for a moment cost him so much.

God is calling us to demonstrate his glory to his generation. I pray that may the Lord help us to demonstrate his holiness through our life.
